What's your car actually worth? In honest dollars.

Built from the same Manheim MMR auction data the dealer's appraiser opens on their screen — plus East Bay demand. The range you see is the range I'd write at the desk.

  • Live auction comparables
  • Adjusted for East County
  • No "we re-inspected" surprises

About your car

Honest in, honest out.
#
Good · ~45%

"Excellent" applies to about 3% of cars on the road. KBB doesn't tell you that. I do.

Adjusts for local East Bay demand.

Adding a VIN narrows the range by ~50%.

Three sources behind your range

  1. 01
    Manheim MMR.

The auction database every wholesale dealer prices off. Updated daily with real transaction data — not asking prices.

  2. 02
    East Bay demand.

A 4Runner sells for more in Brentwood than Bakersfield. We adjust for your ZIP, not a national average.

  3. 03
    Front-line vs auction split.

If your car can be sold directly on the lot, the high end is the price. If it has to go to auction, the low end is the price. I'll tell you which one applies.

Common questions before you text me

Why is this lower than KBB?
KBB shows Private Party retail — what you might get selling to a stranger on Craigslist, if you can find one who'll pay it. Dealers don't pay retail-to-a-stranger. They pay wholesale plus a margin.
Will you re-inspect and lower the number?
No. This range already accounts for normal wear. If something significant comes up that you didn't mention (frame damage, salvage title, missed service records), I'll tell you the new number on the phone — not at the desk.
Should I sell it private party instead?
Sometimes yes. If your car is under 60k miles, well-maintained, and in a hot model, you might net $1.5K–$3K more private party — at the cost of a few weekends of strangers in your driveway. I'll tell you honestly which path makes more money.
What if my car has damage?
Tell me upfront. Damage doesn't kill a trade — hiding it does. I work with reconditioning estimates, not surprise deductions.
Lock the number

Send Mike photos — lock the range.

Three or four phone shots is all I need to tighten this range to a final number, in writing, before you drive over.

Photos go to Mike's phone only. Not to a dealer network.

FAQ

How accurate is this range?

Within 5% of what an in-person appraisal will say, assuming the condition you picked is honest.

Do I have to trade with Mike?

No. Run the number, then sell wherever you want. Most of my customers run the math here, then sell to me anyway — because they want one transaction, not two.

What if my car is paid off vs financed?

Doesn't change the trade value — but if you owe more than it's worth, that gap rolls into your new loan. We'll handle it.

What about a lease return?

Different math — text me. Lease-end buyouts often beat what the captive lender would charge, and I can run that for you free.

Why does ZIP matter?

Trucks sell for more in Antioch than San Francisco. SUVs sell for more in Brentwood than urban areas. Local demand moves the number $500–$2,000.
